Mavericks trade for 43rd pick, draft freshman shooting guard Ricky Ledo

The Mavericks traded their way into the second round to select a talented but troubled shooting guard.

There's no photo of Ledo since he didn't play in college, so I'm going to use a derp Cuban face.

The Mavericks traded away their 44th pick earlier on in the evening, but traded their way back into the second round of the NBA Draft to select 20-year-old Ricky Ledo.

He's a 6'6" shooting guard committed to Providence University who practiced but never played for the Friars after being ruled ineligible for academic reasons. He's athletic and can create offensively with the ball in his hands; however, his shooting is inconsistent and he struggles on defense. Overall, he's a high upside pick who's very raw.

Although he probably should have stayed in school, he now has a chance to make the Mavericks roster. He might be a strong candidate for the D-League if he is signed to the team.
