The manager title is changing, Mavs Moneyball isn't

A humble word from your new manager, if you have a moment to spare.

Ronald Martinez

If you haven't read Lisa's farewell speech, you'll probably be quite confused trying to tackle this.

As she mentioned, I'm the new manager here at Mavs Moneyball. I'm about to hit my three year anniversary with the site, so you should hopefully know who I am.

It's funny to think back to when I started, just a high schooler who wanted to channel his passion for a Dallas-based basketball team into a finished product that a few people might read. Little did I know that the first year I started writing would be the greatest season in the history of Mavericks. I learned a lot that year and, though I might not have been present at the Mavs Game 6 after-party, enjoyed every second of it.

We've all grown a lot since then -- the site, you all as a community, and myself. Sometime from then to now, I decided that this is what I'm going to do for a living. I'm taking classes as a sports journalism student at the University of North Texas and will officially major next spring.

It's an honor that I was Lisa's choice to guide the site from here on out and I'm taking that responsibility very seriously. Don't worry, I'm not here to make massive overhauls or change the way the site runs. Mavs Moneyball is headed in the right direction, thanks to the work Lisa's put into it. I just have to keep it going.

So, hello! Welcome to the new Mavs Moneyball, which is going to look remarkably similar to the old Mavs Moneyball. In fact, if I do my job well, you probably won't notice any differences at all.

Enough about me. Go congratulate Lisa on finally finding her dream job and thank her for the three crazy years she invested into this site!
