THE STORY: They beat Chicago and then they somehow squeaked by the 'Wolves. Now, the Mavericks have a chance to win three straight on the road in Washington D.C. on New Year's Day. That's got to be something.
The Wizards are not a push-over, though, sitting at 14-14 in the East. There's always the threat of a letdown in the final game away from home. Dallas has beat some good teams, but to be anything other than an 8th or 9th seed in the West, they have to show consistency -- and this game is no exception.
