UPDATE 2:56 p.m.: The Mavericks cut Bernard James, Ivan Johnson and Doron Lamb to bring the roster to 15 players.

The Texas Legends have preferred rights to the first four Maverick cuts if they choose to sign in the NBA D-League. It's very possible some combination of the players cut will end up in Frisco this season; we'll let you know when.

ORIGINAL POST: Charlie Villanueva's strong preseason play earned him a spot on the final 15-man roster for the Mavericks this season.

Ivan Johnson has been cut, RealGM's Shams Charania reports. We'll update with post with other roster cuts when it happens.

Doron Lamb will likely be announced as a cut as well. The Mavericks will need to cut some combination of Gal Mekel, Bernard James and Ricky Ledo to finalize the roster with 15 players.

Other training camp invitees Eric Griffin and Yuki Togashi were cut a few days ago.
