After playing 30+ minutes in each of the last four contests, Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki will rest against the Philadelphia 76ers. In the first thirteen games of the season Dirk only eclipsedd the 30 minute mark twice, but with the Mavericks struggling as of late, coach Rick Carlisle was forced to call upon his star more frequently in the last week.
As of this moment, Dallas guard Jameer Nelson is still considered questionable with back spasms. Considering the Mavericks set a franchise record with the margin of victory the last time these two teams played, one might reasonably assume the Mavericks will allow Nelson more time to rest his back. Raymond Felton is also still unavailable. The new Maverick has yet to make his regular season debut, as he is still dealing with lingering issues from an ankle sprain in pre-season.
With the winless Siixers reeling from a major injury, perhaps Carlisle will opt for more experimental line ups in an effort to see which players respond in new situations.
For Philadelphia, guard Tony Wroten will miss the Saturday night game with a knee injury suffered in a loss to Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

While the Mavericks possess the depth to survive the losses of 40% of their starting line up, the loss of Wroten most likely seals the fate of the 0-15 Sixers. Wroten leads Philadelphia in minutes, points, assists, and steals. His absense will require monster games from former rookie of the year Michael Carter Williams and athletic super-freak K.J. McDaniels.
