THE STORY: The race for that last playoff spot is tighter than ever, and the Mavs know it. Dallas, Memphis and Golden State each have 33 wins heading into tonight, and the only thing separating 6 from 8 is the loss column. A win against the Sixers was a good start, but the Mavericks cannot have the same hapless turnovers they were plagued by last night tonight. Detroit may be a middling team but they are excellent on the boards. Let's hope Dirk getting to sit most of the fourth last night is just what he needed to be amazing once again.
