GAME THREAD: Boston Celtics at Dallas Mavericks

The Mavs kick off an eight game homestand on St. Patrick's Day against, appropriately, the Celtics.

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: Boston Celtics at Dallas Mavericks

WHAT: The beginning of eight straight games at home

WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. CDT

HOW: FSSW

THE STORY: Happy ACTUAL St. Patrick's Day, Moneyballers! I spent St. Patrick's Day (observed) on Saturday with the big Dallas parade, to which Mark Cuban bought the naming rights. And tonight the Mavs, coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season in OKC, come home for eight straight against a Rajon Rondo-less Celtics. How appropriate!

I won't lie, this feels a liiiiiiitle like a trap game to me, especially coming off last night's game. Nonetheless, broken record, etc etc forever and always, this is a game the Mavs can and should and need to have to stay in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race.

Let's keep the momentum going, boys. Oh, and good luck to those of you who entered our little contest tonight! Winner will be announced tomorrow. GO MAVS.
