VIDEO QUOTEBOARD: Late push leads to a Mavericks blowout, 122-106

At the friendly (and surprisingly empty) confines of the American Airlines Center, the Mavericks beat the Nuggets for the first time in four meetings.

Rick Carlisle

On the bench's performance

It was critical. We needed a lot of guys to contribute tonight. They have a lot of guys that bring a lot off their bench. Carter had a really good game. He scored and had some assists, but he was really good defensively. He made some big plays down the stretch. Everybody that played was critical. I thought Crowder in the first half -- coming in and hitting the four threes and being active defensively. Jae's stint out there was big for us.

Dirk Nowitzki

On bouncing back

I thought it was a solid team effort, everybody playing well. We tried to keep their fast guards out of the lane, tried to be aggressive with some of the pick and roll coverage. Where that team really killed us a couple of times this year was the transition, and we try to always send two or three guys back and make sure they don't beat us over the top all the time.

On the eight-game homestand

In my 18 years, I don't think I've seen a homestand like this. The great thing is that we don't play every day, we always have a day of rest in between, especially after an overtime game last night, our veterans played a lot of minutes. We got some good rest yesterday and we always have a chance to prepare for the opponents, so this is a nice little set up for us to make a run. Like we've been seeing all year long, we've got to be ready to play. If we just walk out here thinking we're at home, we should win, it's not going to work. We've got to make it happen.

On seeing Jason Kidd again

It'll be good to see him. He's been doing a heck of a job, they had some injury problems all season long. They lost Brook [Lopez] now for the season, but they keep winning after a tough start. I think he looks comfortable there after a tough start, so I'm happy for him.

On whether he's watch much of Brooklyn on League Pass

I usually don't watch much East Coast, especially when I get home after games, all that's on is West Coast ball. I enjoy West Coast ball more, it's more up and down, it's more fun to watch for me. So I haven't seen them in a while.

On Monta being a closer

I think he's got the confidence to do it, and in this league, confidence is like 80%. There's obviously some skill involve, but if you have the confidence you can do it, you do it a few times, then you're there, you've arrived.

On his fatigue level

I actually asked coach to take me out there for a minute, and we did with four minutes to go, thinking I'd come right back in. But our guys did a great job.

Monta Ellis

On whether he's making a habit out of these huge fourth quarters

Hopefully. You know, I'll continue, but at the end of the day we got the win, that's all I care about.

On whether he's looking to take over in the fourth

I'm just looking to take what the defense gave me, be patient. Run a screen and roll, come off, see how the defense is playing and make the right play.

On bouncing back from three losses

We felt like we had to bounce back from the game the other night, from the overtime loss. We want to stay on that pace in heading in the direction of 50 wins and try to get a great seed in the West.

Jae Crowder

On his four 3-pointers

It's just a mindset. I don't know when I'm going to get my shots, but when it comes I have to step into it aggressively and take them. I know I can shoot the ball and my teammates have faith in me so I just have to step in and shoot them.

On Monta ballin' out in the fourth

He was getting any shot he wanted. We ran the same play for him I'd say five or six times and they couldn't stop it so he just kept making plays.

Nuggets head coach Brian Shaw

On why the Mavs won

We didn't have enough in the tank tonight to get over the top. We cut the lead down to three at one point; I think it was 99 to 96. We have dug such a hole for ourselves we had to spend a lot of energy to get back into the game. We just didn't have enough to get over the hump. Defensively, we didn't stop them really in any areas. They shot about 54 percent from the field, 54 percent, 82 percent from the free throw line and out rebounded us. They pretty much beat us in every facet of the game and we made a lot of mistakes offensively and defensively. We don't have a large margin for error. All the credit goes to them.
