WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs. New York Knicks (sort of)

WHAT: the Summer League kickoff.

THE STORY: Hey, Mavericks basketball is back (ish)! The Mavs' summer squad features a few guys you know and love and some you've probably never heard of. You can find the full roster here. They'll face off today in their first game against, ironically enough, the Shane Larkin-led Knicks squad.

Mavs Moneyball's own fearless leader, Tim Cato, will be on the scene in Vegas, with a few others on staff joining him later this week.
