DeJuan Blair sign-and-trade with Washington complete

Blair joins the Wizards for three years.

UPDATE II: The trade is complete. The Wizards use a trade exception so that they could sign him over the cap, and since Dallas had no interest in bringing him back, they happily obliged.

UPDATE July 16: Marc Stein is now reporting that the sign-and-trade will be completed sometime today.

Blair later tweeted this:

Original post: Marc Stein is reporting that the Mavericks and Wizards are currently engaged in negotiations for a sign-and-trade involving DeJuan Blair.

Washington holds a few trade exceptions but, as David Lord points out, Dallas has to be getting something more.

Eddie Sefko is reporting that Dallas will likely receive a trade exception or cash in return for Blair. The Mavs are not expected to take back any players.

This development is still fluid and not all the details have been released. We'll keep you updated as the story develops.
