NBA Schedule: Dallas Mavericks open season in San Antonio for Spurs ring ceremony

They'll have a chance to spoil the banner-raising for the team they took to seven games in the first round of the playoffs.

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

The Mavericks will open the season on Oct. 28 against the San Antonio Spurs in the first game of a TNT doubleheader. The Spurs will raise their 2014 championship banner and receive their rings, giving the Mavericks to chance to play spoiler after taking San Antonio to a Game 7 last May.

The Mavericks do not play any road trips longer than four games, but 12 of 16 games in January are on the road. Their longest homestand is five games, spanning from March 10 to 22. All eight games in April are against Western Conference teams, including eight potential playoff teams. The Mavericks will close the season against Portland at home on April 15.

They will play 17 back-to-backs (16 last year) and 20 of the final 30 games are against teams who made the playoffs last year.

Check out the full schedule here on Mavs.com, as well as my twitter for some more observations. I'll have a more comprehensive breakdown up a little later tonight.

As for now, what do you think? What games are you already making sure you'll be at?
