Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams will miss the rest of the preseason and could miss the team's season opener due to a strained right calf, according to ESPN Dallas' Tim MacMahon.
Mavs PG Deron Williams (calf) will miss the entire preseason. His availability for the season opener is in question.

Williams is projected to be Dallas' starting point guard this year, but injuries to both calves have prevented him from participating in any full practices. The Dallas native, who signed a two-year deal with the Mavericks on July 14, strained his left calf a week before training camp begun.
Rick Carlisle said Williams will be kept out of any contact drills for the next week, per MacMahon's report.
If Williams is a go for the season opener against former Maverick Tyson Chandler and the Phoenix Suns, early indications are he would come off the bench. J.J. Barea and Raymond Felton have split starting duties at the point guard spot in Dallas' four preseason games.
