The Mavericks are riding a three-game winning streak that includes impressive victories against the Clippers and the Rockets. The game against Philadelphia comes on the heels of a four-games-in-five-nights stretch, but with the Sixers still trying for their first win, the Mavs are looking good to continue their streak.
What did the Sixers do over the offseason?
The 76ers acquired center Jahlil Okafor with their first pick in the draft, a move widely celebrated and one that seemed likely to bolster an already potentially impressive young front court. But the mood in Philadelphia became considerably less celebratory when news of more Joel Embiid health issues (serious enough that he would miss his second season) emerged.
Philadelphia also acquired second year wing Nik Stauskas from Sacramento and signed undrafted point guard TJ McConnell.
What have the Sixers done lately?
To say that it's been a rough start for the Sixers would be an understatement, but it's not yet as bad as last season, when the team won its first game on December 3 to improve to 1-17. Still, the season hasn't been without its bright spots. Okafor is still finding his legs, but McConnell in particular has proved to be an excellent passer and a pretty good shooter.
Most recently, the team put up a helluva fight against the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night, making a run late that put them within four points of their first win. Unfortunately for the Sixers, it didn't last.

How to watch?
Unsurprisingly, the Sixers aren't making many national television appearances this year. Watch this one on Fox Sports Southwest or on League Pass.
