If you're entertaining the thought about going to see a Dallas Mavericks playoff game this year, you might not only be getting your money's worth but also are saving money compared to other playoff teams.
The average price of a ticket for a Mavericks first-round home game is considerably cheaper than 10 other teams in the playoffs, according to NerdWallet, a personal finance site. Dallas' playoff tickets are being priced at an average of $195.65, based on data collected from ticket retailer TipIQ.
This figure is considerably lower, especially when looking at how much an average ticket goes for a Golden State Warriors game. If you're in the Bay Area and plan to see Steph Curry and Klay Thompson take on Anthony Davis in the first round, be prepared to fork up an average of $461.05. But if you're in the New Orleans area, you're only paying $174.19 to see the Pelicans in the playoffs.
Dallas' first-round opponent, the Houston Rockets, is fourth on this chart at $267.30 per ticket, about $70 more than what the Mavericks will sell. So you might want to budget if you plan on seeing Game 1 on Saturday in the Toyota Center.
