A while ago in a galaxy far, far away and right after the Mavs were done for the season, I (Rebecca) asked our staff what they were most looking forward to this coming offseason. I meant to post it back then, but hey, this seems as good a time as any.
Take a look at some reasons our staff is excited for the Mavs' offseason, then tell us in the comments what you're looking forward to!
I'm looking forward to being frustrated before the draft and being angry in the middle of it, then sad after. It's a tradition unlike any other for Mavs fans.
- Kirk Henderson
I'm looking forward to Dirk Nowitzki's annual Celebrity Baseball Game. Last year, Chandler Parsons was scheduled to come (although he backed out last minute for reasons I don't recall) and what d'you know, he signed in Dallas a month later. If LaMarcus Aldridge is on the celebrity list, I have tentative plans to light off approximately seven million fireworks above Dallas.
- Tim Cato
The craziness that is the Mavs' front office during the offseason. Last year they pulled that Tyson Chandler trade seemingly out of thin air. What magic do they have for us over the next few months?
- Rebecca Lawson
Chandler Parsons vacation pictures. Need I say more?
- Kelly Ketchersid
The Mavericks' season is over...or is it? Sure, they lost in the first round but that doesn't mean it's time to hang up your Jordans until October. SUMMER LEAGUE! And guess what, our main man Dwight Powell will be showing out in Las Vegas this season. While Powell may not have seen much action off the Mavs' bench this season, he went ham in his eight games in the D-League with the Texas Legends. Powell dropped 28.25 points, grabbed 9.38 rebounds, dished 3.25 assists, and had 1.25 blocks per game. He's going to be a monster in Vegas.
- Doyle Rader
I am really interested in Eric Griffin as a prospect. He's made real strides as a shooter and is as good an athlete as there is in this league.
