3 fun things to know about Justin Anderson

The Mavs new rookie already has ties to Dirk Nowitzki.

The Mavs grabbed swingman Justin Anderson with their first round pick and it's time to get to know him a little bit better.

Justin Anderson has already learned a lot from Dirk Nowitzki

Justin Anderson became a legitimate first round prospect because he improved his three point shooting from 29 percent to 45 percent. An increase by that margin takes a lot of hard work and special training. It just so happens that Anderson has Dirk Nowitzki to thank for his improvement. This Sports Illustrated feature highlights the details behind Anderson's improvement:

To implement the changes, Anderson did form shooting -- standing still and concentrating on his motion -- all the way back to 25 or 28 feet. He did Pratt’s "Dirk Nowitzki Drill," in which a player sets his feet in shooting position, squats so that his posterior touches his heels and then raises up into a shot legs-first. It is initially executed slowly, so a player can mentally organize his movements before increasing to game speed.

Justin Anderson is better at baseball than John Wall

Anderson took to Twitter to take a friendly jab at John Wall about his atrocious first pitch.

Here's Wall's awful first pitch. I think Justin undersold it a bit.

Not only did Anderson talk the talk, but he walked the walk.

Justin Anderson is a fun follow on Instagram
