The Dallas Mavericks roster is nearly finalized, with 13 of the 15 slots filled. Here's a look.
POINT GUARD
Deron Williams, J.J. Barea, Raymond Felton
SHOOTING GUARD
Wesley Matthews, Devin Harris, Justin Anderson
SMALL FORWARD
Chandler Parsons, Richard Jefferson, Charlie Villanueva
POWER FORWARD
Dirk Nowitzki, Jeremy Evans, Dwight Powell
CENTER
Zaza Pachulia
There's two spots left and one has to go to a backup center. The Mavericks would like a big man who can play above the rim on the roll and block shots on defense one the other end. So would the other 29 teams. Those players aren't easy to find, which is why Dallas is considering kicking the tires on JaVale McGee or even Ryan Hollins. Samuel Dalembert is a third option brought up frequently, too.
The 15th spot could be a dimensional guard-forward that can fill in at the two while Matthews recovers from his Achilles or a power forward to give Dirk a legitimate backup. Who would you rather see?
