How much is a new follow on Twitter worth? To Mavericks fans it could be quite a lot.
Earlier this evening Mavericks small forward/unofficial GM Chandler Parsons apparently followed free agent shooting guard Wes Matthews on Twitter.

Shortly afterwards, ESPN's Marc Stein reported that despite a $45 million contract offer from the Sacramento Kings, Dallas appears to be the favorite to land the former Trailblazer.
But ESPN sources say Dallas is Wes Matthews' preferred destination -- over both Kings and Raptors -- and that Mavs are favorites to land him

Matthews has reportedly sought a new contract starting at $15 million annually -- a figure the Dallas front office has been hesitant to meet after he suffered a torn Achilles in a game against the Mavericks back in March. Those concerns notwithstanding, signing Matthews would be welcome news to Dallas fans who have watched the other quality options among free agent wings agree to new deals over the last 36 hours.
Update:
Sacramento's offer is apparently much richer than what was reported earlier this evening.
Wes Matthews Update: Sacramento offer to free-agent swingman is actually four-year deal at $16 million annually for total of $64 million
