Mark Cuban responds to DeAndre Jordan's decision via Cyber Dust

Mark Cuban reached out to fans after one of the toughest days in Mavericks history.

With the hangover of DeAndre Jordan's abrupt and surprising reversal setting in, Mark Cuban took to Cyber Dust to speak directly to Mavs fans. ESPN Dallas' Tim MacMahon captured the message:

In it, Cuban confirms reports that Jordan stopped communicating with him. He doesn't go into detail about anything else surrounding the debacle but states that he will in due time.

More importantly, Cuban says he reached out to Wesley Matthews, who the Mavericks reached a verbal agreement with before initially coming to terms with Jordan. He offered to let Matthews walk away form their deal since Jordan is no longer joining the team. Matthews rejected that notion and will be a member of the Mavericks.

Reading between the lines, it's apparent that Cuban is extolling the character of Matthews saying that he "is the exact type of player we want in a Mavs uniform..."

Cuban didn't have to say anything. He could have just kept quiet. Most owners would have. Instead he reached out to fans personally. I'm glad Mark Cuban isn't most owners.
