Dirk Nowitzki's new haircut looks like Ellen Degeneres and the Mavs are torching him

The ribbing was so bad that Dirk had to sit on out Sunday. (OK, it was for rest, but maybe this had a small effect.)

Dirk Nowitzki sat out of Sunday's game to rest his 37-year-old self. To honor the occasion, maybe, he trimmed up his hair a little bit and shared the picture after the game.

It didn't go over well.

Unsurprisingly, Chandler Parsons -- who is on the record earlier this month telling us about his and Dirk's "shit talking" -- went IN.

"It's so bad," Parsons said. "He came in here feeling himself, too, thinking we were going to love it. We had ball boys crushing him, coaches, everyone on the team. I have a feeling he's going to change it here soon because he can't take the beating we're giving him."

Even the diplomatic Zaza Pachulia had to knock the new style.

"He got called so many names I couldn't even tell you," he said. "If I were him I'd just totally shave (it), do something about it. It's obviously we were the first one to see it, staff and coaches and ball boys and everyone was giving him a tough time, but hey, he's a great guy. You can tell because he's a great guy, he takes the joke, he takes it like a man."

Look for Dirk to defend himself in tomorrow's pre-game media availability before the Mavericks play the Atlanta Hawks.
