Mavericks sign DeMarcus Cousins’ brother, Jaleel, to training camp deal

Let the #BoogietoDallas revolution begin?

The Dallas Mavericks have signed free-agent big man Jaleel Cousins to a contract, the team announced Monday.

Yes, Jaleel is the brother of Sacramento Kings all-star big man DeMarcus Cousins. This signing comes a day after the Mavericks cut big man Jameel Warney.

The 6-foot-11 Cousins went undrafted out of South Florida after averaging 8.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocks a game per 25 minutes. He was a member of Dallas’ Summer League team in Orlando, averaging 5.3 points and three rebounds per game.

When the Mavericks cut their roster to 15 players by the end of the week, expect Jaleel to not be on there. He’s an extra body that may end up on the Legends before the end of this week. (There’s a decent chance Warney does, as well.)

Between Jaleel Cousins and Seth Curry, the Mavericks field a roster of players that represent a pipedream of epic proportions.
