Dirk Nowitzki continues to climb up the all-time scoring charts, and the Mavericks' star reached another milestone on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
With a 3-pointer at the 10:21 mark in the third quarter, the Big German reached the 29,000-point plateau during Sunday's contest. He's close to 2,000 points away from Wilt Chamberlain, who still sits at fifth with 31,419 points.
Dirk moved past Shaquille O'Neal for sixth place on Dec. 24 against the Brooklyn Nets. He probably won't reach fifth place by the end of this season, but this is still another historic moment for Dirk. who deserves every bit of praise he gets from here on out.
While this is a huge accomplishment, it can't be overlooked that the Mavs are in a dogfight with the Sixers, and rookie big man Jahlil Okafor is having a huge game at the expense of Dirk and Co.
