Dirk Nowitzki listed as day-to-day with bone bruise in knee

The Mavs are dinged up heading into Game 3.

Rick Carlisle told reporters Tuesday afternoon that Dirk Nowitzki is listed as day-to-day. Nowitzki suffered a bruised knee in the Mavs' thrilling 85-84 Game 2 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. An MRI revealed that it's a bone bruise. Carlisle is hopeful that the injury won't cause him to miss any time.

With this injury, Dirk joins a number of his teammates who are dealing with injuries.

Deron Williams, who is dealing with a sports hernia, was listed as doubtful before Game 2. He eventually started but was held out in the second half. His status is uncertain for Game 3.

J.J. Barea is questionable for Game 3 as is David Lee. Barea is dealing with a groin injury and Lee has plantar fasciitis in his right heel.

Another addition to the injury list is Devin Harris. He's dealing with a ligament issue in his hand.

Before the playoffs began, Carlisle called his team The Masking Tape Mavs. That certainly hasn't changed in the postseason. Hopefully the Mavs have a lot more tape.
