The Mavericks have assets to move at the trade deadline, if they choose

New, comments

As we get set for The Most Wonderful Time of the NBA Year, we look at what Dallas might do.

The Dallas Mavericks have some decisions to make and work to do the rest of this season. What do YOU think happens before the trade deadline?

The Dallas Mavericks haven’t had the season that they hoped for. Rather than battling for a playoff spot, injuries have kept the team mired in the NBA’s basement. Dallas’ bottom feeding has shifted the spotlight, at least for those of us not employed by the team, from this season to what’s potentially in store for the future. No one wants to talk about losing, after all.

So, what does the future hold for the Mavericks? Well, they have several players that they could move for assets before the deadline. Andrew Bogut, Deron Williams, and recently Wesley Matthews have all been rumored as potential trade chips. But, if the Mavs are to move any one of these players, what do they want in return? Players? Draft picks? A really sweet pinball machine?

The post-Dirk era is quickly approaching and it’s clear that the moves the Mavs make at the trade deadline and in the draft this summer will go a long way in deciding the future of the organization.

What would you like to see the team do?
