In a recent interview with Australia’s Sky Sports radio, Andrew Bogut indicated his time in Dallas could be coming to an end — either via trade or at the end of the season.
“Thankfully I’m a free agent here so I only have a couple of months more here and then will most likely move on,” Bogut told Sky Sports. “I don’t see myself hanging around with everything that’s gone on. It will be an interesting six months ahead.”
Bogut recently asked coach Rick Carlisle to come off the bench, and it seems that’s been a move brewing for some time as the Mavs have had trouble pairing him and Dirk Nowitzki together in the starting lineup.
It might be seen as a less valuable role for Bogut, but he should get better looks in that role with the Mavs. The fact that he asked to come off the bench also showcases his veteran savvy and unselfishness to other teams who might be interested in trading for the big man to give them an extra push for the playoffs.
I would guess that Bogut would prefer to play for a contender, and barring some crazy trade, Dallas certainly won’t fall in that category for the foreseeable future.
Then there’s this...
