WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Atlanta Hawks
WHAT: Almost done with the rigors of preseason
WHERE: Atlanta
WHEN: 6:30 p.m. CT
HOW: FSSW Plus or NBA League Pass
THE STORY: Well, for some reason the NBA is doing preseason back-to-backs because they're insane, so the Mavericks begin their second preseason back-to-back tonight in Atlanta.
Since it's a back-to-back, almost none of the main rotation players will be on the floor. That means no Dirk Nowitzki, Harrison Barnes, Devin Harris, J.J. Barea or Wesley Matthews.
So what's the point? Well, more Dennis Smith Jr. He's pretty fun, right? That and we can see more of the Mavs backcourt that will be helping plug the gaps while Seth Curry is injured. With the starters expected to play tomorrow night, this is really the last shot for end of the roster hopefuls like P.J. Dozier and Gian Clavell to make an impression to try and stick around for the regular season.
Other than that, hope Smith jams on someone real hard.
