GAME THREAD: Remnants of the Mavericks and Warriors face off

NBA: Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors

WHAT: Two broke teams boink against each other for two and a half hours. One is better.

WHERE: Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA

WHEN: 9:30 p.m. CT

HOW: Fox Sports Southwest or NBA League Pass

THE STORY: The last time these two teams met, Dennis Smith Jr. tried to yam on Draymond Green and they got into it. It was a fun moment in an otherwise typical Warriors beat down (they won 133-103). Dallas actually won the second quarter handily which might end up being one of their best quarters of basketball all season.

So instead of the sequel to that, we get, uhm, something different. Smith, Seth Curry and Nerlens Noel and Dorian Finney-Smith. Steph Curry, Nick Young, Zaza Pachulia and Green are out for the Warriors. So who’s looking forward to J.J. Barea and Yogi Ferrell trying to guard 6’7 guards Shaun Livingston and Klay Thompson? This will be neat.

Still, the Mavs are a weird team with lots of veterans that know how to play together and they’ve been in a ton of close games. So there’s always a chance they play into another close game by limiting turnovers, milking Barnes isolation scoring and not getting into a track meet. Who knows. Go Mavs.
