Every important NBA trade deadline rumor involving the Mavericks

‘Tis the season, and we’ll be updating you here with everything you need to know that might involve Dallas leading up to the Feb. 23 trade deadline.

NBA: Boston Celtics at Dallas Mavericks Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA's trade deadline is nearing on February 23rd. The Mavericks aren’t likely to be “big” movers and shakers, but they do have a few assets this year and a couple guys they’d probably like to move. Mark Cuban has said recently that the team isn’t really trying hard to be competitive, so don’t look for anything earth shattering: As we’ve noted ad nauseum, the only real likely moves for the Mavs involve finding new homes for Andrew Bogut and possibly Deron Williams.

This post will be constantly updated through the trade deadline. All times noted below are Central.

Feb. 21, 12:29 p.m.: To kick things off, per ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Mavericks have made it known that they are willing to take on contracts...for a price.

Feb. 21, 7:24 p.m.: LET’S GET WEIRD. According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, Marc Stein has learned the Utah Jazz are interested in re-acquiring Deron Williams.

Feb. 21, 8:53 p.m.: Derrick Favors wonders like the rest of us of this possible Mavs-Jazz trade.

Feb. 21, 9:11 p.m.: Uh, OK then. Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News says any talks involving Bogut or D-Will do NOT involve the Jazz. Nothing to see here?

Feb 21st, 10:00 p.m.: Eddie Sefko put his tweet into column form Tuesday night, essentially saying that the Mavericks aren’t going to do much before the deadline. It makes sense, but we’ll keep our eyes open just the same.

The Dallas Mavericks have some decisions to make and work to do the rest of this season. What do YOU think happens before the trade deadline?
