It’s finally here: the day we as Mavericks fans have been not-so-patiently waiting for since that last semi-unfortunate win to end Dallas’ season. The NBA Draft is upon us.
Dallas hasn’t had this high a pick in the NBA Draft since the last time they had a ninth pick, in 1998. That turned out pretty well, you might recall: the Mavericks ended up with one Tall Baller from the G: our very own Dirk Nowitzki. So, I’d say that nine is a fairly lucky number. (It’s also MY lucky number, so. We’ve got this, fam!)
After all the madness of the last few days of trades and trade rumors -- the Celtics moving down, whatever’s going on with the Knicks and Kristaps Porzingis, Dwight Howard going to Charlotte (!?), DeAndre Jordan reportedly being shopped (lol) and Dallas reportedly talking with Minnesota about a trade up — it’s sure to be a wild night.
Hold on to your horses, MFFLs. The action starts at 6:00 p.m. Central. You can catch it on ESPN or online at WatchESPN.
(Please enjoy some vintage Madonna below. You’re so welcome.)
