Dennis Smith Jr has only been a Maverick for almost two months now, so we don’t really know that much about him.

We know he worked hard coming from a single-parent home in Arkansas, where he rose to become one of the best high school players in the nation before his stud season at N.C. State. We know he’s probably going to ruin some schleps career this season and that he’s a favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award.

Outside of his upbringing and his eye-popping 48-inch vertical leap, we don’t really know much about Smith’s personality. He had some free time this afternoon on Twitter, held a Q&A and we at least know a bit more about him. Let’s run through the highlights about what we now know.

We know he has good taste in music

Alright I might not be on board with the T.I. tweet (fun fact, I listened to “Bring ‘em Out” on the bus headed to road games when I played basketball in middle school), but the rest is very solid.

We know he’s sort of a nerd

In the future I’ll be proven to be standing on the right side of history as I declare emphatically today that anime is bad. OK, I watched Dragon Ball Z and Gundam after I got home from school when I was in junior high. BUT THE REST IS BAD.

As for the rest of his choices, they’re fine. I’ll see you online in 2k one day, Dennis.

We know he likes the classics when it comes to cars

Honestly, I’m only including this so I can say nice.

Nice.

Finally, we know that I’m not going to have to hate him

The only answer.
