A second round pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers, Withey spent his first two seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans where he played 95 games then spent the last two seasons with the Jazz where he played 102 games. The 7’0” center from Kansas only averages 3.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and just under 1 block per game for his career.
The Mavericks add a third full-time center to the roster with Salah Mejri and “He Who Has Not Signed Yet” and have one more spot on the training camp roster open (assuming Nerlens Noel ever resigns). This spot could be reserved for a Two-Way Contract or for another player with a Training Camp Invitee sliding into that Two-Way spot with Jonathan Motley.
