Well, it’s official — Mark Cuban has done more for Puerto Rico than Donald Trump.
It was revealed at Mavs practice on Tuesday that the reason J.J. Barea wasn’t there was because Mark Cuban lent Barea the team plane so he could send supplies, food and water to the island.
Rick Carlisle says @jjbareapr traveled to Puerto Rico with @mcuban's plane to pick up family and drop off supplies. He'll return tonight.

Barea was born in Puerto Rico before going to school in the continental U.S. He has been trying to raise as much money as possible to help his homeland after they were devastated by Hurricane Maria last week. Most of the island is without power, and Barea told ESPN’s Tim MacMahon that he spoke to his family for the first time since the hurricane on Sunday. Puerto Rico will need all the help it can get to rebuild, and they are desperate for help that hasn’t been quick to arrive.
Barea will be back with the Mavericks on Wednesday and will be bringing his mother and grandmother back to Dallas with him, while his father will stay behind to help. If you wish to donate, you can do so here.
