THE STORY: Our preview for this game is excellent, and I’d encourage you to go give it a read. Last time these two teams faced each other was in Dallas, and Dennis Smith Jr. went off for a fun win. But the stuff that really opened my eyes in today’s preview was how many clutch games the Mavs have been in this season. Twelve consecutive games where they’ve been within 5 points with 5 minutes or less to go? Sounds like a team that’s a step away from being contenders? No? Too optimistic? I don’t even know what to think about this team anymore, honestly. They’re not particularly fun to watch, but then they go beat the Warriors or some such and I’m like “okay well you have my attention.”
