GAME THREAD: Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat

New, comments

The Heat will be a tough test for the slumping Mavericks.

NBA: Dallas Mavericks at Miami Heat Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat

WHAT: The Mavericks have lost seven of their last 10 games, while the Heat have steadily climbed the Eastern Conference rankings.

WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. CT

HOW: Fox Sports Southwest or NBA League Pass

THE STORY: The Miami Heat have the fourth best record in the East and sit only one win behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for third.

When these two teams met on December 22, the Mavericks lost by 12 points, when Wayne Ellington matched his career high of 28 points (because of course he did).

On paper, the Heat don’t look very intimidating, but with Coach Erik Spoelstra, they continue to prove people wrong and have won 10 of their last 14 games.

Basketball Twitter has gone crazy tonight after it was reported Blake Griffin would be traded to the Detroit Pistons. Remember when he was one of the guys who kidnapped DeAndre Jordan? I’m just bringing this up to make you feel happy about basketball for a minute in case the Mavericks are disappointing tonight.
