With 1,435 games under his belt, Dirk Nowitzki has made another mark in the NBA record books as he reaches second place all-time for games played with one team, per Basketball Reference. Dirk passed Utah Jazz hall-of-famer Karl Malone after last night’s game against the New York Knicks.

The next on the list is another Utah Jazz great, John Stockton who sits pretty in first place with 1,504 games.

Dirk still sits in sixth place all-time for games played, with Kevin Garnett, Karl Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Parish above him, but they all played at least two separate teams in their careers.

As long as he stays healthy, Dirk should pass John Stockton for the number one spot next season, and will likely stay there for decades to come, given that most of the players who will begin to catch him in total number of games played after he retires have changed teams at some point in their career.
