Another game, another milestone for Dirk Nowitzki as he becomes only the sixth person in NBA history to play 50,000 minutes.
Nowitzki passes Elvin Hayes for fifth all-time in minutes played. The next person on that list is former teammate Jason Kidd who retired with 50,111 minutes under his belt.
50,000 minutes is a lot of time to be doing anything, let alone being on a basketball court getting buckets.
Here’s a list of things you can do in that time:
- Listen to The Life of Pablo by Kanye West 753 times.
- Watch Interstellar almost 296 times (not a bad idea actually).
- Watch the entire series of The Good Place 87 times (I think I may be the only person in the world who doesn’t like this show).
- Listen to Redbone by Childish Gambino 9,487 times (I may have already done this).
It’s unlikely Nowitzki will move up any further than third place on the all-time list with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (57,446) and Karl Malone (54,852) in first and second. But hey, it wouldn’t surprise me if he signed a three-year deal next season — it is Dirk Nowitzki after all.
