The Dallas Mavericks will call up forward Jameel Warney from the G-League’s Texas Legends and sign him to a 10-day contract, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Warney, 24, has appeared in 37 games with the Legends this season. The 6-foot-7 big man is averaging 20.3 points on 53.6 percent shooting, 9.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks.

This is Warney’s second season with the Legends. He joined the team last season after playing for the Mavericks during the preseason. In three preseason games, Warney averaged four points and 2.7 rebounds.

Prior to this season, Warney played for the Mavericks’ Orlando Pro Summer League team. He appeared in four games and averaged 12 points on 65.6 percent shooting, 5.3 rebounds, one assist, and 2.3 blocks in 21.6 minutes. He was the third leading score on the team and played a key role in helping them win the championship.

He was also a member of the Mavericks’ Las Vegas Summer League team in 2016. He returned to Vegas the following summer with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Warney played all four years of college at Stony Brook before going undrafted in 2016.
