A summer league back to back game! Everyone better be excited for another thrilling Las Vegas Summer League performance from the summer Mavericks.
Dallas is currently 1-1 in pool play and a victory would put them in place to be a part of the tournament. A loss would mean Dallas would go to the consolation bracket, which is essentially two games with no chance to play for anything further.
Here’s a few things to watch for during the game:
Will the lid come off the basket for Jalen Brunson?
Brunson’s had a rather rough statistical go during the first two games, hitting just 5 of 23 field goals and having more turnovers than assists.
But if you’re watching for process over results, he’s been pretty solid. His shot attempts look good, particularly the ones in the lane. Those will fall eventually.
The turnovers are a different matter but that can be chalked up to playing with guys for the first time paired with rust from not playing organized ball since April.
Let’s see Kostas Antetokounmpo already!
We get it, he’s raw. But so are a ton of the prospects here in Vegas. It’s often shocking how few actual basketball skills a lot of summer league prospects possess.
If you missed our post draft story on Antetokounmpo, check it out here. There’s a lot to be excited about with Kostas.
How to watch
The game will be televised on NBAtv at 6:30 pm CST.
