The home stretch of the NBA off season has arrived as the Dallas Mavericks released the schedule for their four preseason games. Upon this writing, Media day is exactly four weeks away (it’s September 21) and the first preseason game is just over five weeks away in the American Airlines Center.
Listed below are the opponents, dates, locations, and TV stations on which the games will be broadcast.
- Beijing Ducks, Saturday September 29, AAC, FOX Sports Southwest PLUS
- 76ers, Friday October 5, Mercedez-Benz Arena (Shanghai, China), NBA TV
- 76ers, Monday October 8, Shenzhen Universiade Center (Shenzhen, China), NBA TV
- Hornets, Friday October 12, AAC, FOX Sports Southwest
On the preseason opener, the Mavericks opponents the Ducks finished their 2017-18 season tied for the 4th most wins in the Chinese Basketball Association (the CBA) out of 20 teams. This will likely be Luka Doncic’s first game in a Dallas Mavericks uniform. Maybe, if we’re lucky, it will also be the first time Mavs fans see Doncic initiate a pick and roll with Dirk Nowitzki.
Because the Mavericks didn’t play him in the summer league this will be the first chance to see the pairing of Dennis Smith Jr. and Luka Doncic working together in Rick Carlisle’s offense. There is genuine reason for excitement with this preseason so mark your calendars because Dallas Mavericks basketball is on its way.
