WHAT: Kristaps Porzingis’ return to New York and a good barometer for this team’s mental state.
WHERE: Madison Square Garden, New York
WHEN: 7 p.m. CT
HOW: Fox Sports Southwest or TNT
THE STORY: Kristaps Porzingis is going to get boo’d. Holy hell, is he going to get boo’d. Despite the fact that his exit from New York wasn’t that bad — Porzingis didn’t badmouth the organization out the door and didn’t stage a drawn out trade request — this will be the the Knicks’ fan version of a home Game 7 of the NBA Finals. This is all they have to live for, really. Have you seen the Knicks? They stink! They’ve stunk for over two decades, so let them have this. Porzingis will get boo’d to the center of the earth tonight. It’s OK.
The big thing, however, is can the Mavericks avenge their poo-filled diaper of a loss last week to this same lowly Knicks team. Since that loss, the Knicks have lost to the Bulls and Cavaliers by double digits. Not great! This is a historically bad Knicks team, which is really saying something. The Mavericks cannot get swept by them. If they do, they’re not making the playoffs. That’s just the rules, sorry! They cannot loose to this dumpster team twice in two weeks. They will be disqualified from the NBA, I’ll delete my Twitter account and jump into a boat and sail aimlessly into the ocean.
So, uh, go Mavs!
