Luka Doncic named fourth straight NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month

The streak continues.

NBA: Indiana Pacers at Dallas Mavericks Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

In a move that probably surprises no one, Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic has been named the NBA’s Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the fourth consecutive month. (Trae Young takes the honors for the East.)

In case you’ve lost count, that’s....well, every time there’s been a Western Conference Rookie of the Month this season, it’s been Luka.

Luka has obviously been sensational this season, exceeding most of our wildest expectations and changing the entire landscape for what Dallas may be able to do in the playoffs in the next few seasons. Dennis Smith Jr. doesn’t like not being the number one? Traded. Wesley Matthews and Harrison Barnes don’t quite fit next to him? Traded. Chance to bring in an absolutely perfect pick and roll partner for Luka in Kristaps Porzingis? Oh, you better believe it.

As we’ve written on the site any number of times this season, the future indeed looks bright with the Mavericks’ rookie sweeping up the league. Is there even any other contender for Rookie of the Year at this point?

(Hint: No.)

Congrats, Luka. Keep it up, kid.
