Year 40 will have some nostalgia

The Dallas Mavericks are bringing back the classic green in one form or another in the 2020-21 season, which happens to be their 40th. Today, the Mavericks announced via Twitter that they will have a new (old?) court to celebrate.

That the green was coming back eventually has been a bit of an open secret for at least year. Earlier this month, the Dallas Mavericks online store debuted a number of pieces of gear heavily highlighting green including a number of jersey options like this;

Pair the court with the selling of jerseys and it’s reasonable to think the Mavericks will play in green at least a few times this season. When paired with the new, but unconfirmed, city edition jerseys for 2020-21, the Mavericks will have a number of different looks this coming season.

Personally, I’m a big fan of the green and white, just because it’s different. The recent Dallas insistence of being big into navy is entirely too bland for a team this exciting. Now all we need is for Luka Doncic or Kristaps Porzingis to honor Brad Davis with some key facial hair and actual hair choices.
