As Playstation and Xbox march toward the release of their new consoles this November, the NBA 2k franchise is set to release their latest update of 2K21 and have correspondingly teased the gaming world with a clip of the next gen gameplay that focuses intensely on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks

First and foremost, while the actual gaming experience has been scrutinized and will have many questions to answer, the aesthetic of the game looks top notch. Showcasing Zion Williamson and cover boy Damian Lillard, it’s truly impressive just how realistic video games look.
Second, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little hyped watching Doncic skip out of the tunnel to a raucous home crowd, fist bumping Mark Cuban, high fiving Champ and pumping up the fans before a game against the Golden State Warriors.
The trailer shows more gameplay between the Warriors and Mavericks, and while it’s certain the game won’t be perfect, they appear to have nailed Doncic’s notorious step-back three as he drains one over Steph Curry.
Ensuring sure you don’t get too captivated to the life-like game, the 2K marketing department was sure to include Tim Hardaway Jr. blowing by Thompson with an absolutely saucy behind the back crossover and putting Marquese Chriss in the graveyard with a poster jam. That was sure to bring at least me back to Earth.
After an enthralling playoff debut, it seems Doncic’s marketing star power, and in this case his likeness, is growing brighter and brighter. Maybe he’ll grace the cover of 2K one day.
