Since it’s been a few days without a Woj-bomb, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski dropped this surprise on twitter Tuesday evening:

The news has since been confirmed via ESPN. A Christmas night game featuring the Dallas Mavericks playing the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers is fantastic news for Mavericks fans.
It’s a fascinating choice to put Dallas on in the primetime slot, given that Kristaps Porzingis will not play. However, Luka Doncic versus Lebron James might be too much to pass up, given that each is among the most popular players in the NBA.
Interestingly, the Mavericks last played a Christmas game nine years ago where they also played Lebron James, as Dallas faced off against the Heat in the first game following the 2011 Lockout. Dallas unveiled the championship banner and presented all members still on the team with their championship rings. The Heat proceeded to wax the Mavericks 104-95 in a game that was over by the end of the first quarter.
Here’s hoping the next Dallas Christmas game gives fans a bit more to cheer about.
