Voting on your favorite one-year Mavericks: Elite 8

Make your voices heard and VOTE!

In the first round of our tournament for your favorite one-year Mavericks we pitted 16 of the greatest (Most fun? Least hated?) Mavericks to suit up for the team during only one season. As a brief reminder, the criteria to be included was: the player must have spent a single season with the Mavericks, played at least 20ish games, and didn’t suck.

We ran parallel polls on both the Mavs Moneyball site and on twitter. Some of you may have even voted in both polls, you deviants. The results of these two polls were then tallied by ya boi Kev. I’m a mathlete, the nerd is inferred. And it is with a heavy heart that we say a tearful goodbye to the losers of the round of 16: Zaza Pachulia, Chris Gatling, DeJuan Blair, Elton Brand, Walt Williams, Amare Stoudemire, Doug McDermott, and NBA Champion Corey Brewer.

Our kings are dead. Long live our kings.

But now it’s on to the next round. Keep a particular eye on leading overall vote getters from round one: Al-Farouq Aminu and Peja Stojakovic. Again, feel free to vote on these in whatever way you see fit, whether that’s on talent, likeability or anything else. It’s your call. And as a reminder, the seedings were based purely on Win Shares during their time with the Mavericks. Happy voting!
