Luka Doncic’s game elicits a variety of reactions. Awe is a common one among fans unless, of course, they are fans of the team he just roasted. It’s not just fans who are taking notice, though. His peers certainly know what he is capable of doing on the floor and NBA legends are taking notice.
Now, Luka’s performance has earned the praise of of one of the league’s best players of the past 25 years. In a recent interview with former players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, Allen Iverson, “The Answer,” is left grasping at words to describe Doncic.
“What?!” Iverson emotes. “Something is wrong with him!”
It’s not just Iverson who’s in awe of Doncic. Jackson chimes in that he called Rick Carlisle saying that the Dallas Mavericks needed him to join the team to ride for Luka when other teams bully him. Carlisle coached Jackson during their stints with the Indiana Pacers in the early 2000s.
The above clip is short, but it speaks volumes. Doncic is already a phenomenon at this early point of his career. He’s causing some of the best to ever play the game take notice and is leaving them at a loss for words.
“Man,” Iverson continues. “Man. Man.”
I couldn’t have said it better.
