The NBA announced that Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki will be a league ambassador for the league’s 75th anniversary season, per a variety of reporters.
The NBA also announces that Clyde Drexler, Magic Johnson, Dirk Nowitzki, Bob Pettit and Oscar Robertson will all serve as ambassadors for the league this season as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations ... suggesting all five of those legends naturally made the Top 75 cut. https://t.co/m4C5wjTwAC

As part of the 75th season, the league is releasing a top 75 players of all time list next week. I’m sure that won’t get people Mad Online! Nowitzki will clearly be on the list, so it’ll be fun to see where he lands and also what the “league ambassador” role means. Surely this means we’ll be seeing more Dirk and more Dirk is always good.
This has been a fun run up to the season for the greatest Mavericks player of all time. Nowitzki is on the cover of the special edition of NBA 2k22, the first worldwide release video game cover honor for him. Nowitzki is also technically part of the Mavericks front office, as a special advisor that helped bring in Jason Kidd as head coach. Despite Nowitzki being retired, he’s still around and that feels good.
