Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged-in Dallas Mavericks fans and fans across the country. SIGN UP to join Reacts.

This week’s poll got some fans a little heated (Editor’s note: VERY HEATED). Given the topic, that’s not a surprise. Jason Kidd has been a lightning rod for debate since the Dallas Mavericks announced his hiring as the team’s new head coach over the summer. Some applauded the decision to bring the former Mavericks and NBA Champion on board. Others, well, not so much.

Regardless, he’s the head coach for now. Yet, with the Mavericks’ offense looking sluggish and out of whack through the first few regular season games, questions about his coaching ability reemerged. That led to a recent SB Nation Reacts poll that asked the question: Will Jason Kidd finish the season as the Mavericks’ head coach?

Now, the votes are in. An overwhelming majority of you—72 percent—think that Kidd will survive the season and remain at the helm of the Mavericks’ coaching staff.

Obviously, we can’t predict the future, but speculation is always fun. It gets people fired up, especially when it comes to the future of Kidd in Dallas. As the season progresses, this discussion isn’t likely to go away unless the Mavericks really start ramping up their play and easily handling bad teams like the Toronto Raptors and Houston Rockets.

Further, it will be interesting to see how much sway and authority Kidd has in the locker room. He seems personable with the players, but can that be an issue. There’s already a leadership council of players—Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr.—who are making personnel decisions. That’s not nothing.

You know we’ll be writing and talking about these matters all season, so join in on the conversation. That’s the point of SB Nation Reacts. We want to have you input on divisive questions like this one as well as other, less divisive, topics. Simply put, we love hearing from you!

Be sure to SIGN UP for SBN Reacts and let your voice be heard weekly. It’s fun, fast, and easy. Best of all, it’s free. Once you SIGN UP, you’ll get a weekly poll with a few questions and all you have to do is vote. This week’s question is going to be about Reggie Bullock. Let us know what you think, MFFLs!
