Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Howard were quite the duo

Following another depressing loss by the Dallas Mavericks, @PandaHank41 comes through with a game recap from yesteryear, this time a look at game two of the 2006 Western Conference Finals, where the Mavericks took on the Phoenix Suns.

Click here to subscribe to his great YouTube channel where he has tons of videos looking back at the Dirk Nowitzki of bygone days.

This one’s particularly fun since it’s one of Dirk Nowitzki’s finest stretches of professional basketball outside of the 2011 Finals run. He and Howard worked so well together, particularly when Josh was hitting in the mid range as he was in this game. His rebounding ability really complimented Dirk’s, and Dirk was a guy who always rebounded the ball better in the playoffs. Watching Howard play defense is really fun too; Dallas could use a defender like him about now. And I could write 1,000 words on Dirk’s hair.

These particular Phoenix Suns are also really fun to see. Shawn Marion said on a Ringer podcast a few weeks ago that he thought their Suns team should’ve made it to the finals that year, but it was not to be.

As always, subscribe to Hank’s channel and watch the whole video. It rules.
