GAME THREAD: Dallas Mavericks at Denver Nuggets

The Mavericks could use a win to kick-off a tough stretch.

NBA: Denver Nuggets at Dallas Mavericks Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: Dallas Mavericks (19-17) at Denver Nuggets (22-15)

WHAT: The Mavericks look to start a brutal stretch of their schedule with a win over a good team.

WHERE: Pepsi Center, Denver, Colorado

WHEN: 9 p.m. CST

HOW: NBATV, Fox Sports Southwest, Altitude, NBA League Pass

THE STORY: The Mavericks have played two fun games against the Nuggets this season. In two games against Denver this season, Luka Doncic has scored 73 points, dished out 29 assists, grabbed 20 rebounds, and collected nine steals. He had a career-high five steals in one game, and a season-high 16 assists in the other. What will he do tonight?

Whatever it is, it’s pivotal it helps the Mavericks win. After Dallas plays Denver tonight, they’ll play two games against the LA Clippers, and two games against the Portland Trailblazers. After that, things cool off a bit and the Mavericks will look to capitalize on one of the league’s easiest second-half schedules. But for a team teetering on the edge of .500 and fighting for a guaranteed playoff spot, a win tonight is essential.

Be nice to each other. This game is super late (or super early, if you’re on the other side of the world) so we’ll all be extra grouchy, but still, be nice.
